Child marriage in Nepalese village

It is understood by Civil code 1963 of Nepal, the legal age for marriage of girls at 16 and the corresponding ages for men are 18 and 21 years. By this way, a girl can marry after her age of 16 years with the consent of her parents or guardians which may called as "arrange marriage", and after the age of 18 she can marry without their consent. In general, this may called as "love marriage".

Child marriage is a great violation against child's rights. It impacts on their childhood, hinders their growing up and it pushes them into an uncertain future. Since most of the victims of this practice are girl children in village area rather than city or town areas. A data which was recetly published by CEDA says that among the ethnic groups of Nepal, the Maithilis of the Terai and Parbate of the hills have the highest number of child marriages.

At the conclusion, we should think strongly that children are the future of any nation. The future of country depend upon them. So, when we think about our nation we must think first about children and should try to abolish the child marriage from Nepalese village.
