A big sacrifice fair in one village.

The story comes from one of the Nepalese village which named as Bariyarpur. The geography of the village lies in the Bara disctrict of population 87706 in Narayani zone. It is just near of Bihar, Indian border. The population of this village is near about 35,000. It is usual and a typical village of Nepal.

In Bariyarpur an interesting event comes after each 5 years only. That is called " Gadhi Mai Mela ". Means the festival and fair of Mother Gadhi. According a mythic Goddees Bhagawati are two sister. One is Gahawa Mai which is at Birganj city and other one is Gadhi Mai that is in Bariyapur. It is also celebrate as a fair. The fair called Gadhimai Mela too. The Gadhimai Mela runs for 1 month. In this period countless cattles are sacrifice to the Goddess Gadhimai by their devotee. Mostly the cattles which are sacrifice are buffalo, goat, cock, duck, pesent. These are only permitted to sacrifice to goddess. Except these are not allowed.
We don't know how much the goddess be happy by this kind of sacrifice. But devotee are always happy by their work. Anyway, it is said that Gadhimai fair is the greatest sacrifice fair in world. No other part in the world celebrate this type of sacrifice fair in this modern time.
